The word is Filipino for cloth made by hand — thread crossed over thread until it holds. That is what this is: a residency with no walls and no country, where the work you make alone is woven in with artists across the world, until the practice stops being solitary. Not a course with an end — a place you belong to, for as long as it serves you.
